How to install a chain and sprocket kit!

Hey everyone!

I found this great how-to post on the www.gixxer.com forum.  Say you bought one of our RK chain and sprocket kits, now what?  Maybe you don't have the funds to let the dealership do it for you?  Save some cash installing it yourself if you have access to the correct tools and the time to get the job done!

This is a great detailed write up with plenty of pictures to guide you along replacing your worn out chain and sprockets on a modern sportbike.  The process may vary a little from bike to bike, however the overall process will be very similar.

The forum post covers:candsblog resized 600

  • Fairing removal
  • Sprocket removal and replacement
  • Master link identificaton/removal/replacement
  • Chain removal and replacement
  • Chain alignment

I hope you find this useful, and thanks for taking the time to read our blog!

While it's not as simple as changing your motorcycle tires, replacing the chain and sprocket is relatively easy job and it will save you considerably over having the dealership do it.
